How to Maintain Eyelash Extensions After Grafting? 2
19 8 月, 2025Just after getting lash extensions, it’s like hosting a grand “union party” for your lashes, but at this point, the adhesive is still hard at work, making the fake and real lashes cling tightly together. During these crucial 6 hours, it’s imperative to keep the lashes dry and absolutely avoid contact with water. Activities like face washing, bathing, and swimming must all be firmly declined. This is because when the adhesive hasn’t fully cured, once it encounters water, the moisture acts like a mischievous troublemaker, seeping into the adhesive layer and undermining its stickiness, leading to lash loss—much like a once-solid friendship that falls apart in an instant.
Meanwhile, stay away from high-temperature and humid environments such as saunas and steam rooms. High temperatures accelerate moisture evaporation, destabilizing the environment around the adhesive, while humidity directly disrupts the adhesive, preventing it from functioning properly. As a result, the lashes struggle to stay in place and start to “run away from home” one after another.
When Washing Your Face: Gently Care for Every Lash
Washing your face may seem like a trivial matter, but it’s crucial for lash extensions. Choosing a mild cleanser is a basic form of respect for your lashes. Facial cleansers containing alcohol, fragrances, or strong cleaning ingredients are like “natural enemies” of the lashes, ruthlessly eroding the lash adhesive and causing the lashes to “go on strike” and fall off. A non-irritating, mild formula cleanser is the right choice, and a facial cleanser specifically formulated for sensitive skin is a great choice.. Its gentle nature allows it to clean the face while minimizing damage to the lashes.
When washing your face, the technique must be gentle, as if handling a fragile work of art. First, lather the cleanser into a fine foam and apply it evenly to the face, making sure to avoid the root of the lashes—never let the cleanser come into contact with them. Then, use your fingertips to gently massage the face, especially around the eye area, with light and slow movements. Never rub vigorously, as this could easily cause the lashes to detach from their “posts.” If you find it hard to control the pressure with your hands, you can gently press the eye area with a wet towel, or use a cotton swab or makeup remover pad dipped in warm water, wrung out, to gently wipe around the eyes.
When rinsing your face, don’t let your guard down. Rinse with warm water by splashing it on your face, avoiding direct water impact on the eyes. The area around the eyes can be gently wiped with a sponge. If water accidentally splashes on the lashes, don’t panic—immediately use a clean makeup pad to gently blot away the moisture.
Drying your face after washing is also a skill. Never rub the eye area vigorously with a towel; instead, blot the moisture away by pressing. Whether using a facial sponge, cleansing cloth, or tissue, treat the eye area gently to prevent lash loss due to friction.
